Cafer Ağa Madrasa

The Cafer Ağa Madrasa is a former religious school built in 1559, now a centre teaching rug weaving & other Turkish crafts. It is an oasis of calm surrounded by busy tourist spots. Teaches students art and ceramics. There is a good restaurant in the courtyard. Hidden down a small alleyway it offers the perfect place for a cup of Turkish tea and rest during a walking tour of the main tourist areas around the Blue Mosque.
